Thermal spraying
It is a technology based on application of metal, carbide and ceramic layer on all kinds of metal objects. We’ve bought this technology from a company called SULZER-METCO® which is our main partner who we cooperate with and we use just their technical equipment, materials and certificated technological processes.
We are the only company in Slovakia which offers services in such a wide range with guarantees and with mentioned technology. Sulzer-Metco is a prestigious world company in the branch of thermal coats. Their materials are certificated in accordance with the certificate ISO 9001.
Thermal application of surfaces is the best option for fabrication of new products, renovation of used components if you want to rise up their working life, mechanical resistance, electrical and thermal isolation and resistance to rust in all environs. Our equipment is movable so we are able to apply layers everywhere you want, for example on hardly removable or big parts as for example papermaking and textile cylinders, stators of electrical spouts etc.
Materials that we are able to coat – Technology of thermal coat, that we use, is usable on materials as:
1.) Materials based on Fe – In this category we offer the whole assortment of steels with a different chemical structure from steels class 11 to class 17 or 19. After coating there is no need for thermal fabrication because every part has required rigour just after coating. Minimal depth of coated layers is approximately 0,3 mm and the maximal can be even some millimetres.
2.) Hard-metal coatings based on Ni – Cr or carbide layers, the most frequent ones are WCs. These layers are extremely tough and resistant to a mechanical damage. Minimal depth of layers is from 0,2 to 0,3 mm.
3.) Materials from ironless metals – In this category we offer a wide assortment of materials. For example pure metals Mo, Cu, Sn, Pb, Zn, Al or their alloys. Their usage is especially for components which have to be resistant to scrape (friction bearings, composites etc.) or as an anticorrosive protection (Zn, Al).
4.) Ceramic materials – This means oxides of Al, Ti, Zr, Cr and their mixtures. These materials are used especially for components which have to be extremely tough and resistant to attrition or to have some special abilities – for example to be electrical or thermal isolates.
We offer nearly 200 kinds of gravels and powders which depend on the chemical structure of materials and on the particular usage. Typical examples of thermal coating usage:
- papermaking cylinders
- spindles of machine tools
- stuffing chucks of pumps, plungers
- rotors of electro-motors
- edge rolls, pulleys in textile industry
- batching cylinders, pulleys during production of needles etc.
